Big Plane Lands on Antarctic Ice

Big Plane Lands on Antarctic Ice

It’s a small thing, I know, and I feel kind of like a five year old sharing this with you guys, but seeing this massive Ilyushin-76 cargo plane landing on the ice at Union Glacier in Antarctica is just so darn cool. That convergence of sledgehammer technology and the silent deeptime presence of an ancient glacier is something I could ponder for hours. Consider it a little mint for the mind, a mental palate cleanser before you get on with the rest of your day.

Can anything be more cool than that! Way cool to see the video, but I’m sure it was whole lot better to be there in person to see that plane land!!!
