Colorado is in the midst of its annual winter thaw, though it’s a few weeks later than normal. California’s strong El Niño-fueled start to winter has paced down, and a once promising snowpack is now clocking in on the wrong side of average (93 percent). Wyoming is all over the place. And the Northeast? Let’s just say they don’t want to hear even a quibble of complaint about lack of snow from Westerners.
There’s still plenty of time for winter to roar back, and fingers crossed, it will. In the meantime, a guy named Bjorn Bauer is either super adept at finding hidden powder stashes in heat waves, or he’s a kind angel who knows that we could all use a little snowy daydream right about now.
Bauer chucked the work-a-day life a few years ago to dedicate himself to a full-time gig of photography and fun. He and his buddies get after it, whether skiing, climbing, boating, or you-name-it, with some serious athleticism and vibe of good times that jumps from each shot.
