Hey—What’s With the Bike Frame and Components Shortage?

If you’ve tried to buy a bike, order a bike, buy a bike part, fabricate a bike part, sell a bike part in your retail store—basically if you’ve tried to do anything that involved buying or selling a new bike-related anything, really, you’ve likely been frustrated with the dreaded “OUT OF STOCK” notice. Of course, lots of outdoor industry sectors have dealt with shortages, it’s not just bikes (just try buying roof racks or cargo boxes right now, for example). But bikes seem to have been hit especially hard.

This video, from the fine folks at Bikepacking.com, gets into the why and a little bit of the when, bikes and components have been so hard to come by in the past year.
